 This course is for Y6 teachers responsible for science moderation. It will help teachers collect and evidence the appropriate work for levels 3, 4 & 5.
This course will provide:

  • an explanation of science levels 3, 4 & 5 showing progression of skills
  • an understanding of the different types of science enquiry and what this means for planning and numeracy skills
  • a clear demonstration of what evidence needs to be recorded and how this can be collected over the year
  • an in depth look at evidence needed for Level 5

Course Provider: Karen Mills

Karen was the Curriculum Improvement Advisor for Science and ESDGC for Newport City Council as well as the regional coordinator for ESDGC Schools Networks. She has an M.A. in Early Years Education and was a Foundation Phase team inspector for Estyn.

She was a member of the working party for DCELLS Science Curriculum 2008 She was co-author of Module 6 for the Foundation Phase and was a member of the WAG working group that developed ESDGC ‘A Common Understanding for Schools’.
